How Our Multi-Signature Wallets Protect Your Assets
Security is at the core of everything we do at RapidCryptoz. In this deep dive, we'll explain how our multi-signature wallet architecture protects your crypto assets.
What is Multi-Signature (Multi-Sig)?
A multi-signature wallet requires multiple private keys to authorize a transaction, rather than just one. Think of it like a bank vault that needs two keys from different managers to open.
Our Multi-Sig Architecture
2-of-3 Signature Scheme
For standard transactions, we use a 2-of-3 signature scheme:
- 1 key held by the user
- 1 key held by RapidCryptoz (hot wallet)
- 1 key held in cold storage (emergency recovery)
3-of-5 for High-Value Transactions
For transactions above $10,000, we implement 3-of-5:
- 2 keys held by the user (primary + backup)
- 2 keys held by RapidCryptoz (operational + compliance)
- 1 key in cold storage with time-lock
Benefits of Multi-Sig
| Security Feature | Single-Sig | Multi-Sig |
|---|---|---|
| Single Point of Failure | ❌ Yes | ✅ No |
| Theft Protection | ❌ Low | ✅ High |
| Key Recovery | ❌ Impossible | ✅ Possible |
| Insider Threat Prevention | ❌ None | ✅ Strong |
